Me and my mate who's got a Saxo decided to go to dartford for a tunnel run and a drive round lakeside to see if anyone was about. We took a spirited drive from Norwich up there as the roads were fairly quiet. We managed to do 3 runs of the tunnel As its fairly easy to turn around at the end of it, and the noise was amazing! Loved hearing the xe at full chat and even managed a few flames. Then we went to lakeside and there were loads of people out in the local tesco! And there must have been a corsa D VXR meet or something because there was about 15 of them driving about and all looked very nice! And on the way home I got a race with a a random one and we were close on the first run then I crept past him. Then the 2nd blip I did easily get past which I was very happy about . And the little corsa didn't miss a beat either I did 300 miles in a night and it loved it! Love my redtop lol and if anyone's local Ish to dartford def go up there for a drive .

Used to be really good about 3-4 years ago. Until the police really cracked down on it and put bollards in the way and speed bumps. Used to be so packed you couldn't ever really find a space in the whole area!

Is that lakeside your talking about? There were a lot of police about and I got stopped for a routine check as well. Didn't seem to bother people though so I guess there used to it. Police were just watching to make sure people weren't booting about tbh.

Apparently Southend now has a scheme running where you get a section 59 if your even seen driving up and down the seafront. So me policeman told me.

driving up and down causing disturbance yes.

they can't give you one just for driving up and down normally as no one would ever be able to drive there.

iirc southend has some hefty speedbumps now. lakeside tesco's is a no go for my z4 after they stuck that rubber speedbump in. front bumper doesn't clear it.

doesn't bother me though, just means i do my shopping elsewhere.

Didnt think there were any cameras IN the tunnel, you sure. Thought they were only on the approach, and on the bridge.

As per link

"Travelling from Kent to Essex, the cameras will begin at junction 2 for the Darenth Interchange and will continue up until the tunnels.

In the clockwise direction, they will operate between junction 31 in Essex and the toll booths on the Kent side of the bridge."

My dad reckons they have an average speed camera at either end when I went through to get my car from Warrens once (didn't stop me giving it blast in there - although I did slow down heavily to do it again so must have kept my average at 50 cos I saw nothing in the post haha)
