Anyone able to tell me anything on a Yamaha marine jet pro tx?
Been offered one for £900 with a trailer but can't seem to find any info on the internet about them at all.
Which are the better kind of jet skis - stand up or sit down ones?

Ski = stand up
Bike = Sit down
We had a Yamaha Waverunner FX140 a few years ago. Fantastic fun, but a very expensive hobby.

I nearly bought a waverunner but decided I wouldn't use it enough.
That one looks like it would break down on a regular basis.

Agree with Byron, expensive hobby for a few days a year. Good fun though.

A few mates have Seadoos. None with Yamaha though.
Great fun to have. You will be  constantly.

Expensive to maintain or expensive to run?

I have a waverunner and as said are great fun but are costly as use a lot of petrol and if u leave in a marina even more. Mine is 60euros a month just to park it there lol

Just everything, insurance, fuel, fuel in tow car, then however much is costs to launch or wherever your will use it. A day out at our local lake would be £100 in no time.

Tbh I live around 10km away so don't spend too much time down there. Is beautiful but gets annoying seeing all the amazing cars.went past lidl in banus the other day and had 3 Porsches and a Bentley in the car park  is a good night out too

Used to do it a lot. Old man ran a club.
Avoid the waverunner, slow, poor cornering, poor acceleration, just poop.
SeaDoo for sit downs. For around that money, look at an XP. Best seller for years, it used to be the best all rounder for everyone.
Kawasaki 750SX, or a Yamaha 701 Superjet. Or the other 650 of both above. Yamaha also done an FX1 which is more freestyle over stability. These are stand ups, FAR more fun IMO. You can learn to do a lot of tricks. Youtube Jetski freestyling.
Used to be cheaper to run, much much cheaper. For a day out, i'd budget £100 in fuel.
You can jetski all year location dependent. Wet out on New Years Day, windy, raining, big waves
Or there are a fair few lakes that you can ski on for a fee.
New ones are mental, Benelli do an 800cc Turbocharged stand up, Kawasaki do various models etc.
Nothing rips your arms out more than a carbon fibre tubbed twin carbed and fully tuned 701cc engine. Miss it a lot.

Check out Lee Stone's videos; I helped to build him a full carbon custom freestyle jet ski last year. I'd much prefer a stand up to a sit down; in fact, I can't see why you'd want a sit down at all-might as well buy a wake boat and have more fun and useability. Definitely a stand up for me; chop the hull down, increase the power and go and try to break it!!
