Hi
Is there any free software that allows editing of RAW files or are all cost download
Any advice would be appreciated

Usually the camera manufacturers have their own RAW editor, that comes with the camera.
Have never tried one, but only ever seem to hear they're terrible.
If it's for your X10 I know there's an editor on the disc that's in the box. Never installed it as all the reviews said don't bother.

If you're running windows 7 or higher, I can get you a free copy of Photoshop CS6 Extended which has a raw editor.

Step 1: Download a free trial of CS6 Extended here: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop&loc=en_gb
Step 2: Watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrAGHohtMnE and follow the instruction underneath (click show more).
Don't be scared about downloading the file. I've done it. It's clean, and it works

Gimp will do Raws in Windows with an additional plugin if you want to run legit software.
