Was looking at them last night, found a video of one on some MK5 Golf R32 Alloys and thought it looked pretty good! Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYvkE6Ghj4w

Same engine as the Fabia VRS, Ibiza Cupra/Bocanegra... Only thing putting me off is the price slightly, and because my mate got one when they came out and had endless problems!

Anyone got an horror stories they can reveal about them or the engines?

they only come as auto/DSG, would rather manual

It's no slower than my Cooper S, and £400 takes it up to 210-220bhp. Never going to be a world beater, but I wouldn't be looking at Polo's if that's what I was after...

The main thing that would put me off getting one, never been a fan of Auto's, especially now they're even more complicated so cost even more to fix!

Had an Ibiza FR with this engine in and gearbox was a fab car i loved it, they can use quit alot of oil, but other than that had nothing go wrong with the engine.....oh and have a test drive you will soon see how good the DSG gearbox is.

Yeah I want to test drive one. I tried driving my mates MK5 R32 with a DSG box and I didn't get on with it at all, but that was the first auto I'd ever tried driving haha.

Reckon prices are likely to come down a lot when they go out of the 3 year warranty?

DSG is for wannabe F1 race drivers on the road.

There is no need for a mildly warm hatchback to have DSG
