Has anyone had to do this? can you recommend any firms? got approximately 100 hard disks that need to be destroyed.

Google for a local firm, will be plenty about although personally i'd opt for a company that shreds the drives rather than 'bending' or 'hole punching'.

We use SIMS. They've got a mobile unit that comes to site.

We blank them using either DBAN (google it) or disk imager, then dispose them using an it recycling company

All depends on the impact level of your data really. We have IL3 and higher clients so we need certification and auditing on everything

DBAN is a good way of doing it, but obviously 100 disks, means you'll have to put the time in yourself.
