What do they make their houses with out there? They seem to just disintegrate. I appreciate that most houses are going to struggle to withstand those kind of winds but there must be something they can do so that the damage isnt so severe? Especially in "tornado alley"

Timber, timber and more timber.
Majority of their building are timber framed.
Hence the drastic devastation, masonry/concrete frame would still be damaged badly but might not be demolished completely.
They never learn though, look how many tornados they get!

Timber is cheap in the states which is why they use it.

Yeah, fair point, but it can't be financially sustainable to keep rebuilding buildings every few years due to their complete lack of ability to withstand weather.
Also, there's no price on life, so you'd think they'd build buildings a bit more capable of defending its inhabitants, especially in Tornado Valley.
But yeah, tragic scenes nonetheless. Can't imagine what they're going through

Pretty much what they do.
Give it a month, some if not most of those properties will be well on the way to being finished again

Looks like parts of Texas (Fort Worth, Ardmore) are going to be hit again.
Decent site for live tracking of storm chasers (Reed Timmer etc), including live video feeds - http://tvnweather.com/live
