If it's a serious problem you should get it done at a hospital but yeah, they use UV treatments for skin problems.

My bird reckons like 6 mins now and again can help exczema but it can make bits of the dry exczema worse.

Wouldn't even contemplate buying one since it's only like 99p for what you're after each session.

6 mins won't burn you, 3 minutes won't be enough, 9+ minutes will send you red

My mate has bad ezcema, goes on 6 minutes a month and swears by it. After Holiday to Turkey with him last year, he barely had any, so any sun seems to clear majority up.

Obviously all skin types are different thoughm so may react differently.

Oh and if you don't use Goggles, (may as well use them) dont keep your eyes closed, as the lids will get "sun" burn.

Massive difference between the UV treatments hospitals use and sunbeds.

Something to do with UV-A and UV-B rays, I believe.

Father in law has just been diagnosed with skin cancer in his face after using sunbeds to self treat eczema for years. He might think he looked great with a tan, but he's going to look a bit freaky with half his nose removed.

I'd definitely speak to a doctor before doing anything.

Not at regular intervals. Just went when he thought it was needed.

Another major contributing factor was that he found the sun helped a lot, so he never wore sunscreen and ended up with burns on a few occasions.

Like Whitties friend he would have healthy skin after a holiday, but I'm fairly certain salt water is a major contributor to that.

I'd guess that if you go to a skin specialist and they believe UV treatment will work, you'll be able to use a "safe" sunbed at regular intervals, depending on your needs. It'll not give you a tan, but it'll help with your condition.
