You live in Llangollen, its pretty much on your doorstep. Go out and drive it rather than asking the internet

Yes, was ok but better roads around. From what I've read on PH there's a fair bit of 'surface dressing' work on one side of it atm which makes progress a little slower than usual lol.

I didn't love it. There are residential bits and it all felt a bit busy with normal traffic. Surface is terrible on bits of it, visibility and views aren't fantastic for the most part.

Certainly a nice drive but not worth some of the things you read about how its the best Wales has to offer.

Did you complete the lap before picking up the camera operator? Not sure I'd have been able to resist the temptation

I've only drove it once in its entirety, I've been back since but after driving one side of it I couldn't really be bothered to complete the lap. It's good first time around but seriously overhyped.

^ I did a few laps with my mate on board then we did that run on video and he took a few photos and that was about it. I cooked my brakes quicker than expected so wasn't out for long and when we went there was traffic lights on one side of it too!

Laps? It's not a track. What next, Marshalls and yellow flags

It's just any old road that is overhyped because of a magazine

This is what happens when people think they are on a race track when in fact its just a normal public road with a fancy name and a bit of internet thrown in

It's a public road with a fancy name and it's got even more internet than evo has, ticks all those boxes. It's also got the 4th elite box.

It's certainly Internet but that's where any similarity ends.

Firstly it was designed and built as a bonafide race track. Not a random public road in the middle of Wales

Secondly it's one way, not a two way public road with idiots taking racing lines round blind corners

Thirdly there are safety flags

Fourthly there are safety barriers

Fifthly it's closed off, you aren't going to get Mr Williams coming along the other way in his tractor with sheep on the back.

Tell me more john about how the nurburgring is the same as the evo triangle

The other big factor from that video is that exactly the same could have happened on a toll road in Germany.

He didn't hit something coming the other way, he just lost it.

And what would have happened at the toll road in Germany? Would he have ended up on an animal fence upside down? No he would have bounced off the safety barrier, or just ended up in a gravel trap

Bounced of the safety barrier which would then have cost more than his car to repair. Although he rolled over, it was on some soft ground and looked pretty tame.

No, but I have driven pretty much most iterations of roads in the UK, the "evo triangle" is no different

What's better Steve?

1. Track once in a blue moon
2. Giving it some beans on the back roads every other day even if you can't give it 110% like on track but actually enjoying yourself.

I don't doubt that its good driving round the nurburging but since I can't do that every weekend, a local bit of good road gets the job done for me.

Well clearly it is different hence why different roads/groups of roads have different levels of popularity ie. the M25 is generally known to be less fun than the snake pass. I must have missed the memo where everything that isn't a race track isn't fun to drive on due to a lack of personnel in orange boiler suits using coloured flags.
