I'm obviously researching this myself but thought someone might have experience of it.

I want to split an HDMI signal to 2 TV's, specifically from a Sky box.

Is it possible for it to go to both TV's at once or does HDCP prevent this? I can use a switchable splitter if really necessary but I'd rather not.

We had a cheap one at my old place that was awful, worked when it felt like it and that was just with laptops and I pads. We ended up buying a bloody expensive one

This worked btw. Didn't get the one from that link, got it cheaper off ebay, exactly the same box as far as I can tell though.

live in a big block of flats with pre-laid cables. not allowed to put a dish up but my balcony faces the wrong way anyway.
sucks, ive only got one line to my 1st box so cant even record one channel and watch another. currently trying to convince our new neighbours to let me run a cable to their living room
