Getting my car re tested tomorrow after the original owner failed it.
I drove it earlier, when I stopped to fill her up there was a rich petrol smell, hinting that its over fuelling. The temperature gauge also sits at 0. I think thats gonna be the culprit for the emissions, but has anyone had any other problems?

Could be a number of things, probably not even related to the gauge at all.
I'd start with a service if you e just bought it, and carry on from there

The temperature gauge has nothing to do with the ECU. The gauge runs off a small plug in the side of the thermostat which has a single spade connector on it, whilst the engine takes its reading from the blue two pin sensor in front of it.
What part of the emissions did it fail on, and by what margin?

My old one fail because of the o2 sensor.
