Been wanting a Greyhound for a while and today took the family to the local retired greyhound trust to have a look.

Liked 2 instantly.

Both walked faultlessly on the lead when we took them for a walk. They were both great with both my kids.

Was hard picking any out of the 20 or so that was there.

Ive even got their racing names and looking at their racing history has been quite cool.

Tough decision which one to pick really.

Goldie or Dennis

Nope got to pick one.

We liked both of them so he said take them for a walk and have a think.

I liked Goldie and the wife liked Dennis.

I'm still 50/50.

Yeah had an accident when racing.

Its odd you cant feel anything when you rub it but the fur is black.

Only asked because the Golden would have been my pick personally. Nice idea getting a retired racing dog

When I got my boxer few years ago we had our jack russell with us and when we took the boxer for walk she didn't need a muzzle. Suppose it's different for different kennels?

The muzzle is because ex racers will eat anything. Rabbits, squirrels, hares, ducks, small cats if they get away from you.

Great dogs but the chase instinct is strong.

Vicious fuckers, one attacked my lab from nowhere. I ended up rolling about with it on the canal footpath and the greyhounds owner ended up in the canal.

I hadn't noticed the gash on my dogs face or I'd have thrown the greyhound in the canal with the owner.

I'm sure the actions of that one dog accurately portrays the entire breed.

Couldn't give a fuck, it's my own experience. Up to that point I had no opinion of them.

The male one will stink but he won't leave burn marks on your lawn when he pisses.

The female one won't stink anywhere near as bad, but she'll trash your lawn when she does a wee on it.

Hard choice Kippers old bean.
