Ok ive got a black sport x16xe which splutters at idle and misfires through different rev ranges
I have changed
Plugs
Leads
Coilpack
Injector
Blanked off the EGR valve
Coolant temp sensor
Checked the bottom pulley
Checked the timing
Cleaned the throttlebody
New inlet manifold gasket
Map sensor disconnected with no difference
Camshaft sensor disconnected with no difference
Checked for air leaks
Fuel filter looks relatively new
Compression test came back ok
Disconnected exhaust before cat
So what else could it be guys before I have to think about breaking her its a shame as its a 90k 1 owner car

When it's running feel around the coil pack, mine used to get damp and it just needed a good spray some WD40, you could feel a tingle with the spark grounding out, I'd be surprised if it was that since you changed most stuff. It might even be a break in the loom, which will be hard to trace.

I was starting to go with the idea of a wiring fault and or a fault with the ecu? I asked a mate at a garage near by and he thought this engine suffered from sticking valves and the head would need to come off and theres a special mod to be machined? Ive never heard this personaly on these. Plus the compression test prooves different

Any flat spots or hesitation during acceleration apart from the 'spluttering'?

Well I have had a similar problem and it was fuel starvation due to a partially blocked fuel filter, but if you have full pressure at the rail then it can't be that. Also had a problem on another car with hesitation/flat spots and some missing, that was the ECU not telling the injectors they needed fuel, when they needed fuel...

just put another tenner in and kained it up and down the road and its still spluttering away. When it goes its a little rocket but it seems to be anything between idle and 2000 rpm it misses and splutters if i hold the revs it fires on all 4 but the minute it goes down to idle it goes back to splutter syndrome. I think you could be right with the ecu playing up. Anyone want it for 350 quid before i break it haha?

Odd one, can't really say without looking at it what the hell is wrong. Take it to the guy above, nick his ECU for a five minutes ( ) just to eliminate that. It doesn't sound like ECU really but as you have tried everything else...
