Just got back from a weekend break in Oxford to Celebrate our 1st Wedding Anniversary

Stayed in the A wing (actual Prison Cells) at Malmaison

Will post pics up of Oxford throughout this week but as a starter I thought I would post 1 pic of the interior of the hotel

Cells(bedrooms) either side of the A wing

Just an awesome place to stay

I went to Oxford for the weekend, last week. Stayed in the four pillars hotel. But I went to the castle/old prison and they told us about that hotel. Should have stayed there.

I have stayed there 3 times now - love the place, even if the parking cost is disproportionate! First time was courtesy of Nissan iirc.

The whole malmaison group are hotels of unique style with all being converted buildings

The one in Manchester is a converted porcelain doll factory which was a nice hotel also

Not sure why, I don't fancy it.

The one in Liverpool was purpose built I think. Still very nice though.

pics dont do it justice but can understand if it doesnt hit the right buttons

Certainly in my top 3 of hotels I have stayed in but mainly down to the setting

Hotel looks decent enough but I don't really get the gimmick of staying in an ex-prison.
