Was going to make a post about this the other day but forgot, Haimsey post in Pl reminded me.

Firstly I don't know of any mainstream site where you can't block someone inside 10 seconds.

When I saw that program, needless to say not one of the bullied seemed remotely normal.

Like to the point everyday tasks would be a challenge. The presenter said at one point, why don't you block them, with a reply, I shouldn't have to

I think these people want it to continue so they can just be angry about something and gives them an excuse to keep phoning up the police almost like they are addicted to the drama.

Doesn't happen to normal people imo.

What are your thoughts

Bullies target people who are 'different'.. Its just another form of oppression and its also in our human nature to fear/reject what is 'different'.

It doesn't make it right in the slightest though but the worst thing you can EVER do is react with anything other than 'What-ever'..

I wish they would teach kids confidence but I suppose its not that easy.

People always says oh delete the social site profile then e.g. facebook but that doesn't stop commets being posted between people, particulary if that carries over into school etc

I was watching something on the BBC the other day and this old presenter guy who was clearly out of touch says, "We've tracked down a troll". Like it was some sort of creature that roams the woods.

School I can partially see a valid issue with. But these people were fully grown adults saying they have considered killing themselves because someone is saying Nasty things on Facebook. Most of the time it was just an individual targeting them too.

If you get bullied online then you probably deserve to feel bad, turn off the computer, or get rid of the app. You don't have to go on sites to see what has happened.

That girl who killed herself over ask.FM was fucking stupid. Don't go on the site if you can't take people being mean.

I know I'm over simplifying it, but at the end of the day if you're getting upset from reading things online, don't go online

Its modern day natural selection.

If you've not got the intelligence to block someone/turn off facebook etc then you're not much to anyone in the real world tbh.

Depends what sort of age you're talking about. I can totally see how someone under 16 could be affected by it, especially when it carries into the real world in school. Think the lad who killed himself by jumping off the Forth Road Bridge had got duped into sending a picture of his cock to what he thought was a lass but turned out to be some lads from school and they were blackmailing him to do stuff otherwise they'd send the photos round school. I can totally understand why at a young age that would drive you over the edge.

But as an adult, i agree, you shouldnt be getting into situations where cyber bullying is affecting your life.

On another point i really hate the way the word "troll" is depicted in the media. Someone who goes onto an RIP page and writes "AHHHH HES DEAD THE SHIITCUNT HAHAHAHA" isnt a troll, thats just being a cunt. Trolling properly takes a degree of skill to wind someone up. It now just seems to be the word to use when someone decides to be a dick on the internet.

You find a lot of the internet bullying comes from fat loner guys who have nothing better to do than be jealous of people who are skinnier, healthier, richer, better looking etc. they also never trully reveal themselves either.

If faceache is the issue. Then don't go on it. Pretty simple solution isn't it?

I said that at work.

Then people asked why I don't have fb.

The reason is because it's shit and creates an online sociatic competition.

They think it's because I get cyber bullied

fuckface is for gaylords and weirdos. Like 'big brother', it's utterly banal and pointless. End of, Marc

Sane, sensible people with a life and things to do, would never dream of going on there.

Plus, there's CS, which makes it all the more redundant.
