Providing the initial inspection from a detailer down south goes well, my dad will hopefully be going to collect a car in Banbury.
I'm aware of London Oxford airport which is only 17 miles from Banbury instead of Heathrow which is 66 miles, but what I can't seem to find out is if this is a normal airport which regular flights come into, or is it for chartered flights and private aircraft?
Thanks.

Go on a any flight comparison site, see what flights are available from an airport near you. If you can find a flight to that one, they are available, if you can't, they aren't.

Never heard of london oxford. It's not an airport which easyjet operates from anyway, and they do all the others.
Theres always good transport links from the 4 big london airports anyway.

Used to be Kidlington Airport, renamed to try and give it a little more prestige! Never used it but thought it did a few select domestic flights, Edinburgh and Jersey were two off top of head

But Birmingham is a good shout, get the monorail to the train and you can be in London for £6 if you can find a ticket in the price band from Chiltern.
Edit: Don't know why I said London, Banbury is on the same line though.

Cool. It's an old metro he's buying. £150, so you'll make £15 for your efforts.

I just realised. All the good cars seem to be in that region.
That's where my brother's WR1 came from. And his GT3 (I think).

Im not sure which is more absurd, London Oxford, London Luton or London Southend...
As said, Kidlington Airport is a tiny one that runs a handful of prop flights to a select few destinations and is not worht the effort, just go Brum

London Stansted is probably the same distance from London as Luton and Southend (ok abit of a lie there, Southend is slightly further away)
Only true airports within London are Heathrow and City.
