Wherever you may be, please take a moment to remember those who gave/give their lives for this country.
we had a 2 minutes silence in work on friday at 11am and it was disgusting how many people didn't acknowledge it.

It was briefed that everyone must stop working, even if you didn't want to pay your respects.
Also, someone not willing to pay their respects doesn't deserve to live in a country with so much freedom.

Why? Everyone has their own opinion on things.
Shutting your mouth for 2 mins a year is fuck all. If you care that much then go do some charity work etc. Folk didn't give their lives for you to be quiet for a bit. They fought for freedom etc so we are all free to decide for ourselves.

I agree it should be the individuals choice but they should also respect that others will want to pay their respects. They dont have to sit a remember but they should at least stay quiet, even if they just want to spend it looking at their phone. If someone was to continue making a racket whilst i was reflecting I'd be fuming.
For instance, i've been to many football games where the opposition have had a minutes silence for a player/long serving member of staff who've died. I've got no connection to this person, but I'll quite happily stay quiet for a minute and respect the fact that they want to pay their respects. Its just good manners.

At the end of the day. If you can't be quiet and stop doing stuff for 120 seconds to respect the hundreds of thousands of people who died for our freedom then you're a tool.

Why Friday and not Monday when it is actually 11/11?
Not sure what I will he doing tomorrow, would like to see the service in town but probably won't.
Doesn't mean to say I have any less respect though...

I do agree to an extent, however I wouldn't go out of my way to make noise. If others want to use that time to remember that's their choice, and I respect that. I just done need a particular time/date dictated to me about when I should remember
At work etc I would just shut up like everybody else

Do you think in the far future we'll come to a point where all the 2 minute silences for the unfortunate things adds up to a full week of straight silence.

There are some proper cunts on this forum.
Not really that hard to just be silent for 2 mins as a mark of respect is it?
Gaurentee there will be some radical Islamists burning Poppy's again somewhere though

Sounds like you want to suck on his penis, jizz on his face, then stick your penis into his stomach.
