Who's Viera? I don't think I could answer that tbh. Vieira was easily the best at what he did in his prime, but Keane was the driving force behind probably the best ever United team.

I knew you had rose tinted glasses, but really? He can be called many things, but overrated isn't one.

I don't think he was anywhere near as good as people seem to remember/think.

Sorry, thought this as asking for opinions.

just watching now. dont think even keane would deny that vieira was a better individual player than he was (much much better IMO), but keane was more of a leader (albeit vieira was a very good leader for our team)

a mix of the two would have possible been the best player around for the style of play, keane for me as I think he took the whole captain band to a new level but I am biased as a man utd fan,

also got to add the saf spat is making him look silly/childish imo

I think Roy Keane is a dumpling but I'd have him over Vieira all day long.

Vieira had more ability but there have been very few players of Keane's ilk in Premiership history, in fact I can't think of anyone that comes close other than Vieira.

A driving force of determination and aggression, took the duel with his opponent personally and didn't allow his standards to drop for any minute of any game.

I can easily say Keane is the best captain we've had at United my short life. As they alluded to in this programme, he HATED Arsenal and other teams alike. We just don't see that in the modern game. He was an absolute warrior for us, it's just a shame it's turned bitter.

In terms of the SAF argument, I'm sure in a way they are both as bad as each other, but if you're causing more harm than good in the dressing room then you've gotta go
