After having my current car (corsa C) for 5yrs in March 2014 & paying out £££'s to keep it on the road etc, I decided to look into possibly a brand new car on a lease for 3-4yrs then hand.it in for another etc, thinking I wouldnt have to worry about sorting, tax, mot's,.servicing etc. When Ive looked it seems anything around £200 p/m or less is mall engined, the sized of a corsa and not spec'd very good. Ideally I'm after something an astra/focus size, decent spec with 5 doors.

It seems like getting a loan to buy 2nd hand car seems to be the best way. Anybody else been in a similar situation or haf any experiences like this?

thanks

Either way, he's still paying for servicing smart arse. The deal he will get will have servicing built into the monthly cost.

not the point I was trying to make Andrew but still a valid one.

he said he wanted to spend £200 a month. maintenance is pretty expensive. he wont get a car and maintenance for £200. probably not even a dacia

What puts me off is the initial payment is very high on some of the cars. It's still something to take a look at so I appreciate everyone helping/giving advice.

Short of a VXR8, a Merc SLS, a Bentley Flying Spur, or a Veyron Supersport, I can't actually think, off the top of my head, of anything new that I would want

I like the new Challenger, Charger, 300C and Camaro Z28, but they're all left hookers and again, big bucks too.

Bad times.

As ugly a car as that 1 series is, that sounds like a steal.

What's the score with putting on any options? Although if you just hand it back at the end anyway, I don't suppose not having sat nav or whatever else that would help it sell really matters?

The basic m135i comes with sat nav doesn't it? At least I thought I'd read that on the BMW site.

I'm not 100% because I'm going out of my way not to look but I thought you needed to add one of the packages on to get it.

no sat nav standard, just basic idrive still get the screen with all the info etc..
i went for the auto box which is absolutely astonishing in this car, metallic paint estoril blue with red leather and the loud speaker audio.

you can spec whatever you like it just up's the monthly payments obviously
at the end of the term you can hand it back extend it another year or buy it off them
