Apparently it covered the main-roads on xmas-Eve night and xmas-day but sadly I wasn't allowed out

Got to feel sorry for the poor bastids who had no power and a soggy floor on xmas day!

Here's some footage from boxing day, hope you enjoy

Is that your own footage? It's really good, you should offer it to your local news studio

How much did that gear set you back? I've been thinking of buying something similar.
I'm impressed with that footage too. Very smooth.

Its taken quite a tumble in price...

The quad + gimbal originally set me back just under £1000.. Then the video goggles + transmitter and antennas are around another £400 and I'm using aftermarket RC gear which was another £350 odd... Plus the GoPro ofcourse.. GP3 black which is about £270 if you find a special offer...
(so Steve is pretty much on the money as they say)..

However the Phantom 2 + Gimbal bundle (new version) is now £620 ready to fly with one battery, charger and standard transmitter..

You could do it all in for £1000 if you went for the cheaper goggles and a GoPro white/silver

But you'd be craving for more! Set your budget to about £1500 and you could have a really nice portable platform.

Hmmm... It's very tempting, but that is a little more than I thought.
I'd definitely have to have a use for it before I splashed out

That's very tempting!
What video goggles did you get? Do they pair with the gopro or another onboard camera?

Do you need any license to fly these? Are the rules any different for hexcopters?

This article on the BBC indicates the guy needs a full blown license or is that because its being used in a commercial nature?

As soon as you charge a penny for your services you need a B-NUC.. For hobby use no license required
