...to revert back to iOS 6 from 7, on a 4s?

Just wondered if any of you chaps/chapesses had managed this.

I can't seem to find a definitive yes or no from the tinternet and i've had a quick look in geek day, plus tried a few search criteria on here but nothing obvious.

Had to do the update last night to 7 so as to be able to use this years itunes '12 days of Christmas' giveaway.

Worst days's work i've ever done. I'd rather have gone without all the freebies than have my phone the way it is today.

I used to love my little phone. I just want to put a hammer through it now.

This is exactly why I binned my iPhone and switched to Windows Phone (specifically a Nokia Lumia 920, although I now wish I'd waited for the 1020 with the 41MP camera).

I just couldn't get on with iOS 7 at all.

Nope. Apple stop signing off new registrations of previous IOS versions a few days after the release of a new one unfortunately.

Even if you download that ipsw I'm sure that when you go to activate the phone it'll fail because Apple aren't signing ios6 anymore.

What's wrong with 7? It's basically just iOS 6 with a new theme.

Possibly performance related? Before I got my 5S I avoided upgrading to 7 on my old 4 as I read plenty of reviews saying it ran a lot slower.

It's horrible

The format, the style, the colours, everything. Plus it flattens the battery insanely fast.

It's a bit like when Peter got the gay gene in Family Guy. My phone has essentially been made gay. With AIDS.

If its just the looks you want to change, there is an ios 6 theme for ios 7, which can be used if your jailbroken.

Google ios7 battery life and there's loads f things you can do to improve it.

Not quite what you were after but it's going to help partly.

Don't bother. They'll most likely not be allowed to help downgrade your phone as it'll require a few "unofficial" steps.

Tbh Jim, it sounds like you just need a big ol' cup of MTFU, get over the colours and realise almost everything is exactly like it used to be.

Enjoy the changes that are better, like access to flashlight, clock, calculator and camera no matter which app your in (or even from the lock screen).

The new spotlight placement is much more useful.

Safari now switches automatically to full screen, which gives a much better view while browsing. To go backwards or forward in your history, just swipe from the edge of the screen.

Try googling some iOS 7 features, theres honestly more to be happy about than annoyed with.

Could you Jailbreak? Go back to the earliest version you can find. Download the older ios files or something and install it manually? Either way more work than is worth. Probably better off buying one that hasnt been upgraded

Or you could just get on Android...

Thank you Nick and Robin. I'll look into both of those.

I'm so angry with myself. Could bloody kick myself. I sort of knew I shouldn't have done it, but I stupidly over prioritised free stuff.

Bugger I hoped they'd be able to help. Even if it meant a charge and leaving it with them.

Btw Mister B, in order to tolerate it now, it's not a case of manning the fuck up. It's more like manning the fuck down.

The whole operation style and look of the phone now, is as though it was done for and by, some really flamboyant homosexuals.

I am incapable of being fabulous. Hence my biblical dislike for my once appreciated device.

I've stopped using it for anything other than phone calls.

Even text messaging is hideous. White on blue on white

And the final insult is that the name of my hometown has been removed from the weather thingy and replaced with simply 'London'. Cunts. I now have two Londons.

Sorry Scoot, you have me at a disadvantage Chief. I'm super thick when it comes to this sort of thing.

Which software? And how would I go about utilising itunes in this fashion?

I've only had this phone a year Jordy. And i'm stuck with a two year contract, so I have a good 11 months left to go.

Download the ios from the link i posted.
Plug phone into itunes.
Hold ctrl and click on restore iphone. This will bring up a box which allows you to select the file you downloaded.
Select the file and itunes will install.

If apple doesnt verify it when you come to activate it the. youll need to keep ios7.
