You will need to melt them down to ash, then you have a few options on how to smoke them. I recommend a simple fag paper.

There are a couple of options for DIY smoked lights.
Two most popular approaches are tinting spray and self adhesives.
Tinting spray is probably the easiest option, but it tends to look cheap and can often make the lights look dull and brown-ish.
When it comes to self adhesives, a lot of people go for the Lamin-X brand. If done properly it can look very good and last for quite a while.
Application can be difficult, but there's lots of good guides on youtube.
