Firstly troll. To give people this name just legitimises the fact they're being a nob. That doesn't deserve a name, other than to directly call them out on whatever they're doing. As soon as troll becomes a category of behaviour, people adopt it. In my day, we'd have said 'please stop being a nob'. There wouldn't have been a whole raft of replies classifying the exact level of troll-ness or the expertise of said troll in disguising his bullshit as his genuine opinion.
Secondly tard.
Not only is it not actually a word, but the word it derives from is also a verb, not a noun. That means you can use to describe the activities of something, but you can't use it as a name. So you can retard your ignition and cause it to fire later, or you can retard a child and cause them to undergo remedial studies. But you can't be a retard, any more than you can be a walk or a sing.
Perhaps the trolls who are calling people retards should retard their own education and obtain some understanding of why their behaviour appears somewhat ironic to anyone with more than a passing grasp of English.
Merry Christmas.

According to the Oxford English Dictionary;
noun
Pronunciation: /ˈriːtɑːd/
informal, offensive
a person who has a mental disability (often used as a general term of abuse).
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

"Trolling" In general is ridiculous anyway. There's trolling, and there's just plain abuse. It angers me when things on the news are put down to trolling. "The troll told the celebrity to "Fuck off and die of aids"" - That's not trolling, that's just being a twat.
Trolling is deliberately being a twat to gain a response from people, which Ronson could claim he was doing, imo he just said a few silly things that you'll see from someone in most threads about people dying (Or being injured) - Just ignore it and move on
(May well he re-iterated Ian's points, but meh)

Troll is overused by people who are new to the internet and are scared of it.

I agree on there being two types of "troll", however, i personally think the rise of this behavior can be partly as a result of over-opinionated people on some forums. I've seen a number of examples of when someone puts forward their opinion of something, only to be told that they're wrong by some over-opinionated cunt. Some people can let this go, others like to keep going and going until they're branded a troll.

You'll find that the book edition is updated along with the internet every year anyway?
Retard as a describing word is as much a legitimate word as 'merch' and 'vacay' apparently after a wee search. What I think what you meant to say was 'it's my fucking website and we'll use the words I want to, ok'

Someone I used to work with said her son had ADHD (lad's in his 20's) and claimed if someone without ADHD took his ADHD tablets it would make them hyper and if her son snorted cocaine it would calm him down.
Doesn't sound right to me but I've never taken ADHD tablets or cocaine.

Trolls have long pink hair. I used to collect them out of those little egg machines as a kid from the local kwik-save.
Tards- another lazy lazy form of abuse.
