It's my new favourite Nurburgring video, it incapsulates everything about the 'Ring.

I'm taking my 1.3 CDTi over now, he's inspired me

He cannot afford to lose momentum so the perfect line has to be sacrificed

Is this btg time? I was 30 secs quicker in a standard puma after about 5 attempts. Jr even quicker than that in a near standard astra 1.6 granted the puma is a bit quicker but still...Surprised it took so much of a mission to get under 10mins

Wow. An achievement to be proud of IMHO. And fair play to sticking to his goal for so long!

Ax handles quite well unless the torsion bar is fucked. Bhp differences between that and the puma will make a bit of difference but it's more about handling and getting speed up and keeping it there in these lower powered cars.

I'm annoyed that there's a complete lack of people doing stuff like putting supercharged V6s in this sort of thing. Sorry, but a diesel AX driving around a track is always going to be a diesel AX driving round a track no matter how good the driver, that doesn't excite me.

agreed. It's actually a really boring video like most are from that track in regular road cars.

He has 54bhp diesel, Puma has 120bhp. Even if you throw weight into the equation it's still quite good

On reflection he is running a048s as well, jr done a 9.46 in the Astra with eibach springs, stripped out and R888 but that has 125bhp and petrol so bit easier to drive fast

What you reckon a 1.3 CDTi with around 90bhp - 180-200lb/ft could do

A few of you are saying its nothing special but come on, its a 1.5 diesel with 54bhp It took Clarkson just under 10 mins to go round in a diesel jag with a massive power advantage and I'd imagine he's not to shabby a driver.

It's a 1.4 diesel so even worse than the far more robust 1.5
