Did it recently mate. Got immediate approval. Think it was about £14 per application if I recall correctly

Think it replaces the thing you had to fill in on the plane?

Still get 20 questions from immigration regardless of how much paperwork you have with you. Unless it's Vegas. they just give you a high 5 and tell you to have a good time

You still need to fill in the form on the plane/arrivals/passport control

Been to Florida a couple of times in the last 18 months, the online ESTA for me was approved immediately and you still fill a form out on the plane which you hand over to the customs bloke along with your passport.

Normally they tell you which address to use on it as it's something to do with the airline IIRC?

Only a customs form,

I've got that many America stamps on my passport now I don't get any questions,
Even when I say i'm there working.

Annoying my last esta only lasts 6 months as my passport runs out in August

Did mine night before last time, flight at 11am, not instant but within a few minutes lets say 10, the system did say it was overloaded at the time. From NI i enter US via Newark as it is the only route and passport control have always been very nice.

I got dragged into a room and questioned about where i'd been and whether i'd been to south america/mexico recently

all because a bottle of aftershave leaked onto my passport
