I am looking at buying a 1.7 tdi due to the new insurance.
Has anyone on here got one/been in one? What are your opinions?
Thanx guys.

My dad has one, and i have the 1.2sxi, his feels more torquey, but its a bit dissapointing when you go for the red line. The brakes are better than the 1.2 brakes though. Personally i would much rather the 1.2Sxi over 1.7Dti Sxi, but thats me

1.7TDi can be tuned quite a lot with just a chip

With the diesels you can have it tuned with a plug and play chip called powerlink.
75Bhp > 90 Bhp
122 ibft > 144ibft torque.
Look at a 0-60 of around 11.2 sec.
Pretty good for plug and play . Mid range would be a whole load of fun as well.
Cheers,
Chun.

Rob any tuning would technically void the warranty. But if anything did happen with the engine you just unplug and get your car fixed. I'm not exactly sure how the power is obtained but i think its done without boost increase, just tunning the fuelling pulse. I don't know enough about diesel tuning to tell you any more.

you should be able to get more than that as well, larger intercooler, turn up the boost and get the chip reprogramed to match the fueling

It depends you see . If you take your car to the same vauxhall garage often to get it checked over, services, etc. They will probs know about it . If they didn't know about the device in the first place then they wouldn't have a incentive to dig further, if anything did happen. But because its tuning without boost increase there shouldn't be any more problems than there would of been standard. I wouldn't of thought they could trace the fact that you had a mod. .
Cheers,
Chun.

So with a Filter, Zaust, Chip, what sort of BHP would i be looking at? on a average basis, as i know all different products have different effects. Is there a good site for the corsa 1.7 tdi tuning? with all bits?

8-9 seconds is a joke mate, never in a hopes chance will a 100 bhp diesel corsa which only revs to 5200 rpm get there that quick. yes they weigh a fair bit more. mine doesnt even do it that fast.

If you're going to get it chipped it is best to tell the dealer. 9 times out of 10 they dont care as they just "forget" to mention it to vaux when claiming. If you dont tell them they may reset your ECU back to how it was r instal software updates etc which could down tune it again.
