I collected a car on 8th feb and still not recieved the V5. How long should i wait until i send the green slip? Also tax is up end of this month so will need the green slip, but i seen it only last 2 months and i will have to say when i had it?

Doesn't matter as long as green slip ain't stamped . I think now local offices are shut there is a huge back log

Got my recent V5 in 1.5 weeks with my plate transferred over too.
I'd be wondering how quickly the seller has posted it off.
When I got the X5 from a dealer, I didn't have the V5 still 4 weeks on. Dealer "hadn't got round to posting it" yet

Instead of asking on a forum Fred, try having a look on the DVLA website. It states quite clearly how long it can/may take. From memory it says an average of 4 weeks and any longer than 6 and you should contact them (don't quote me in that though)

I have looked on the green slip. As i stated in my post i have 2 months but in my case 2 months is the same time i need to tax my car so i wont have a green slip. The forum is here to ask a question!! As above theres a big difference in how quick they are coming!

You can tax online or with the green slip at a post office

Cant tax online if its not registered at my address and will need to post the green slip off to get the V5 so wont be able to use the slip to tax. If baza is right then all is fine the V5C isnt stamped so will tax then send off for the V5 if its not turned up by the
