Just a quick one,
The gf has a 2006 corsa 1.3 diesel, 180km on the clock...
The problem is cranking it over from time to time, hot or cold start no difference it hesitates, it'll fire up for about 2 seconds and cut out, sometimes takes 2/3 attempts before she fires promptly..
My question is: Is this normal ? Is it a starter issue? Glow plug fault ? Injectors ?
My guess is the glow plugs but might check it out on the diagnosis tool, getting abit annoying and would like the car to be right..
Cheers

Don't want to patronise, but you are waiting for the coil symbol on the dash to go out before trying to start the engine aren't you?

Yes I know these is a glow plug light, goes out quick enough... Is it just these fiat engines are hard to start?

Never had a problem with my Partner's, but it only has about 24k on the clocks.

I think plugging it into the snap on will answer my question, I'm guessing the glow plugs are knackered, my Astravan 1.7 dti starts on the button

I find they don't start if you leave the ignition on for a while before starting it.

I've figured if you turn the key a little harder than normal it'll start easier but maybe that's in my head lol

Fairly common on these, as I remember its more often related to fuel pressure than the glow plugs.
Probably worth changing the plugs as its not a massive job, see if that changes anything.

Yeah I've googled the issue and doesn't seem massive, anyone I've asked has given me a different solution hence why I put up a thread...
I think I'll get it into work one of these fine days and see what the snap on tool says, hopefully it's minor like glow plugs rather than a dodgy injector...
