I'm on holiday in very west Cornwall for a week from the 10th of May and I fancy doing something different down there this time rather than the usual sightseeing.

I've got a Cornish pasty making course booked and I think in going to do some coastal kayaking but I want something else if anyone has any suggestions?

Could give surfing a try? There's loads of board rental places down there that can set you sup. even do lessons and stuff

Only just read nismo's reply. Just noticed the surfing bit haha

Lands end I think I've done every time I've been down there just because I felt I had to, that and Lizard point. Might give surfing a go.

She wants to do deep sea fishing but I'll be like a vomit machine unless it's perfectly calm!

That's where we are staying, right by the beach too so hopefully it'll be good weather.

Whenever we go to Cornwall we always end up driving to St Ives so this time we've decided to be there from day one!

Did St Michaels mount last time, really just fancy some 'doing' stuff, not just 'seeing' stuff...

Perranporth is lovely - my uncle's got a holiday cottage there he lets me use every few years.

Can't help Robin out, though - me and Mrs Evil tend to do sightsee-y stuff rather than activities. I will be following this thread with interest to get some inspiration for our next visit!

Coasteering, it's basically swimming, climbing, scrambling, walking, canyoning, jumping etc along the coast. Very physical and good fun.

Theres a cider farm near truro and theres a good out door ko kart near newquay

St Ives is shit. Now called St Aids.

Hayle is fantastic, I grew up there and they have the best beaches in Cornwall, along with Mr B's Icecream!!!

The cider farm is good, Healeys Cider Farm is its name. Only takes about 10 minutes to walk around though.

Go Karting at St Eval used to be good, now it is not. And tbh, it is about 45 minutes from where you are.

Quad biking is closer, at Blackwater.

Lands End is shit.

Porthcurno has a lovely beach and also an Amphitheatre, The Minack. Could be worth going if a show is on.

Checked the Minack out already and there's nothing on that we fancy.

Karting I can do anywhere.

Been to the cider farm before, won't bother again. Same as St Austell brewery, it's good once.

Something in between walking and rock climbing.

I'm fat, lazy and don't like heights

I just don't want to sit on the beach every day!

Thinking of cycling the camel trail but that's not particularly 'Cornwall'

Camel Trail is ok.

Cardinham Woods has a fantastic bike section.

Loads of good walks down that way, over the cliffs and stuff.

If you want to go Kayaking, my tip is this:

Go to Loe Beach.
Hire Kayak
Go to Smuggler Cottage (take a left from the beach)
Drink beer by the river
Kayak back.

Loe Beach is great so you can kayak to Truro if you wish, or Falmouth.
