Its a trademark of Pep teams. Ball playing CB's when they require a no nonsense one at times. They've not been at their best in recent weeks since the heavy defeat to Dortmund!

Christ. Real are doing to Bayern what Bayern did to Barca last year. Simply ruthless on the ball.

15 goals is the highest ever haul in one Champions League season or European Cup

Hahaha. This will be brilliant if this ends up a Chelsea/Real final after the shit both teams got for daring to defend.
Victory for tactical, organised football, defeat for those who get hard ons over pass completion stats

Could make for a really boring final, but you'd imagine Real would get a first half goal against Chelsea at least

I only want Carlisle to drop if we stay in L2. If we win the playoffs, then I'd like them to stay up.

I could do with them out of the picture so I've only got fucking dirty fake scouse scum bastards Tranmere to worry about at the weekend!
A draw would put them 3 pts behind Crewe with -3 difference in goals, not a massive amount to turn over at the weekend

Ronaldo finally realises that 99.9% of his free kicks either go into row z or into the wall and actually uses some skill instead of kicking it really really hard. Good free kick

According to BBC Sport this result will "Increase the pressure on manager Pep Guardiola"
Haven't they just won the league in record time?

There is no comparison between this Madrid side and Chelsea.
Madrid are still sublime to watch when they are attacking, Chelsea just don't attack. Ever.

He's scored numerous amounts of free kicks by hitting it under the wall. In fact he's scored numerous amounts of free kicks, period. I think your stats may be slightly skewed

Don't they? 3rd highest scorers in the league. More than Arsenal who are bummed for their 'amazing' football. CL semi final too, possibly a final, must have done some attacking to get there.
I put Madrid alongside Chelsea because they got lambasted by football critics last week for playing a defensive game against Bayern at home, yet they won 1-0, so it worked, yet because they didn't just gung Ho it everywhere that was apparently not right, load of shite. Defending is just as important as attacking, and football is about winning, not passing it in circles for half an hour. If you can defend right, you only need to score 1 to win.
Its worked for us in the 2nd half of our season, signed 2 quality centre halves and a good keeper, defended for all its worth and nicked goals to win games. Gone from 22nd and joint level with the side who have finished bottom to the playoffs in half a season, 16 unbeaten, 3 conceded in that run and only 8 in 22 games.
It's hilarious hearing opposition managers come out a cry that we just defended, so what? We won, you lost, dry your eyes, we're not here to produce a spectacle, we're here to win. If you could defend like we do you wouldn't have lost, improve your team.
Sick of this bollocks that you HAVE to play in a certain way, if whatever way you play gets you the results you need, you're doing your job.

Completely agree
Was listening to a load of Liverpool fans complaining after they lost to Chelsea because "sport is about entertainment"
I always thought sport was about winning TBH

Definitely. That line is the biggest sack of bollocks Ive ever heard. Its definitely not. Chelsea dont exist to entertain fans of Liverpool/Man Utd/Bristol Rovers/York City or anyone stupid enough to cough up £40 a month to watch SUPER SUNDAY WIV DA LADZ. They exist to win, and that entertains their fans. It doesnt matter how you win, just that you do it. Lose 3-2 every weekend playing attacking 'attractive' football and the fans wont be happy, they certainly arent going to come away going "Well, we lost again but hey, 75% possession, entertaining passing, well chuffed with that" they will come away saying "Fuck sake, why cant we fucking defend? They've had 3 shots and scored 3 goals. Useless sack of cunts" Likewise, play defensive football and still get beat every weekend, you'll rightly get shit for that too.
Winning is what is important, to the people it actually matters for. How you go about that and who that pisses off because they've paid £40 a month for some 'entertainment' sat on an armchair is irrelevant.
