Had an NIP come through whilst driving company car, M1 doing 68 when they had dropped it temporarily down to 50

noticed though the letter is dated over 2 weeks after the offence, now the car is a lease car so at the moment trying to find out when they were notified

but saying the lease firm were notified over 14 days after the offence before passing onto me, what do I do to contest this?? not sure how to go about it

also not sure how to time this right as im going nurburgring on the 25/6 so don't want to have to send off my license when im due to go out there (says I have 28 days to respond from the 16/5)- best to send off asap or leave it to back end of the 28 days so by the time the plod respond I will already be in Germany (or close to)

14 days does apply for a NIP for a speed limit, however if the above was roadworks etc it would count as a restriction so the statutory time limit doesnt count

I've just had another one, could do with protesting it.

From what i've read, you cannot, and will not get out of it.

Ok so basic consensus is im fucked..fine..clean license up to this point anyway, just annoying fine

So back to the second problem

Do I send off the nip form now or drag it out and send it at the latest possible time...im thinking send it as late as I can and then by the time the feds respond I would be pretty much back from germany

I received a letter last year. Admitted fault, paid £79 and took the driving awareness course.

When I got caught again I tried to think of it like this...

How many times do I speed compared to how many times I have got a fine, turns out I'm doing pretty well

It's good value for money when you look at it that way

Still on a clean license, but I attribute that to very rarely doing motorways and driving the same a/b-road route every day in 45mph traffic there and back.

When did you pass?

I'm 1997 so 17 years, costing about £16pa as it currently stands, 4.3p per day. Can probably live that with that.

Incidenly, not sure if you can be given points for a temp speed limit - needs reading up. But I'm sure they're not endorsable.

Also read somewhere the sign needs to be vertical which those roadwork ones generally aren't. Althouyh not familiar with anyone having won on that basis.

I got caught doing 61 in a 50 section of the m1, where those shitty variable speed gantrys are.

I'm still certain it said 50 or even looked like 50 and I was in quite heavy traffic at the time, but whats the point of trying to argue? I have no definitive proof and they're a bunch of money grabbing cunts.

Funnily enough, last year there was a news article about the signs on the m1 which weren't to the legal requirement and a lot of people had been caught like me.
