Where's the best place to get a HPI check these days and for the best price?

Also wondering how important it is to have the V5 reference number before doing a check as I know I can do it on the car reg alone?

The V5 part is more for a guarantee if you purchase the car from what I remember.

Hpi themselves are the best, get more info. They also do a package deal on 3 checks.

I walked away from 3 clios as they had dodgy history like a logbook loan!

HPI themselves is the best bet. Saved my no end of troble with a crashed car last weekend. Missus gave me sad faces the whole way home though!
