Has anyone got one of these? What do you think to them if so? Can you download apps still etc and stream movies? Good enough replacement for a laptop or would you suggest spending the iPad money?

If it's just for browsing/games then a tablet is perfect. Look at the Samsung TAB 8. Not too big as doesn't cost the earth.

The kindle fire does its job well enough for us.
Haven't streamed films, struggled with setting it up, but can download apps to play off the memory card for it. Browser works. Skype works on it. So my daughter can watch stuff, we can browse, that's about all we use it for really
