Want to mount a 55" TV on the wall, found this mount on CPC:
http://cpc.farnell.com/b-tech/bt7534-b/wall-mount-single-arm-black/dp/ST01432
Says its suitable for up to 50" but it supports well over the weight of mine (18kg) and has the right size VESA mount (400mm x 400mm)... I'm not sure else really matters?
Is there anything I'm missing here? or can anyone recommend a product if this isn't suitable? Thank you.

I have a vogel swivel mount holding up my prehistoric 42'' Samsung plasma which weighs an absolute tonne. Been up 4 and a half years now. Would definitely recommend them.
I'm sure it cost around the same as the one you linked.

Brackets will always take more than stated. It's a con most of the time I reckon. It's not like there's much strain on it Is there. Especially now with led tvs

Buys super expenive telly, attaches it to wall with super cheap bracket.
Logic
Tbh they're probably fine. I'd rather have something I know won't fail and is covered (to a point I guess) if it does fail.

I bought the cheapest mount I could find when I got my TV, still doing the same job 4 years later. TV cost 2k and mount cost about £7.

You've only got to look at how the mount it made to know it isn't going to fail Mr Gilbert :-)

£20ish ebay for a swivel/tilt one suitable for 55"
I just went for a low profile static one, hence price diff.
I'd say it was more likely the wall fixings would give up before the bracket lol, would feel quite confident swinging on mine
