So basically I currently pay £85 a month for variety pack, sports, fibre and line rental. Pretty crap deal I reckon, especially when new customers are getting everything chucked at them.
The best the call centre woman could offer was multiroom and boxsets extra but it would still be £86. Told her I wanted to cancel and it's all gone through now.
Will I get phone calls offering me cheaper packages to stop me leaving or do I now need to look at other providers? I don't particularly want to go back to the dark ages of not having broadband and watching freeview!
I've been with sky for 4 and a half years, most of the time paying over the odds because I hate calling people up yet they still care more about new customers, rather than loyal ones.

did you ask for the cut off date? You've got until that date.
You should get a phone call, but can ring up at any point to change your mind until that day.

Yeah, 1st March, so still got a while.
I was tempted by the multiroom and boxsets but asked them to include movies for the £90 odd a month and they couldn't (wouldn't) do it.
Mate in work gets everything for £55 a month

new customers = more money. old customers that just keep paying = same money. pretty obvious why they target new customers really isnt it.

Last time I cancelled, I had found a deal with BT, they woyld pay my £400+ fixed term deals etc, then give me £100 and pretty much exactly what I had for half the price..
Sky wouldn't match it until tonnes of pressure, then agreed to give me a £100 credit, and half price everything for 12months!
BT will pay your fixed term offers, so always try that card imo

How long did they have you on the line before letting you go?
It took me nearly 2 hours
Kept on telling them that I don't even watch tv anymore, so I don't need a package. They were adamant that I needed all bundles because it's cheap and I was a nutter for not taking the offer!

About 30 minutes, not too bad.
She did say that sky was the best and i'll not get the same service from anywhere else and stuff like that. The usual garbage.

Its interesting to see that now multi-room includes the Sky Go Extra.
Think I will be ringing tonight to see how I get on as the online chat is never available

Yeah i did notice that on the offers when I went online yesterday. Seems they're trying to bundle everything up so you can't just get individual things.
Would've had the lot for £86 a month if she included movies but she didn't want to

Cancelled my sky just before christmas and when it came to he cut off point the tv was off for two days. I then logged onto my sky account and it said come back now for 50% off now on an advert. Rang straight up ended up with 60% off for 10 months (same as 50% over 12). Have got the hd and boxset package with hd movies, unlimited broadband. Including line rental at 16.40 i pay £49 a month

Oh and when you ringing up the number for the deal the bloke was really good, cancelling was an ordeal. Ended up firmly saying look can we stop going round the houses and you just cancel my sky, they were offering shite.

Be aware that last week I was able to negotiate for the 40MB Fibre - £5pm + 25% off the normal line rental. The guy next to me at work also managed to get the £5pm offer.
Its to complete with some offers BT have at the moment

As above really. Normally rentions will give you a deal but last time I had to actually cancel and then about two weeks into the last 4 weeks of noticd, one of the team from sky called with 50% off for the year.

Well he said to me, are you sure you want me to cancel this now cause its not reversible, people think were going to ring them up offering a better deal and it just wont happen, once I cancel this now we cant offer you a better deal, told him to cancel.
