Going to look at one today on a 13 plate that's up for 9k. 2.cdti 160 it's done 40k miles. Anything to watch out for if I go for it?

Anyone got any real life mpg figures? Can't see it making what it says it will.

Depreciation.

Apparently they are quite dark in the back, due to small windows if that bothers you.

Get a Suzuki Liana, its the old reasonably priced car before the astra, on top gear.

No it isn't.

It is the old Reasonably Priced Car on Top Gear before the Lacetti.

This has already depreciated a lot in 2 years. Apparently around 20k new now only 9k lol
Not too fussed about being dark in the back. Only getting a bigger car as the corsa is far too small with a baby now.

Got a 1.7CDTi at work. That's pretty good and returns decent MPG. We've had no problems in 2 - 3 years and not exactly looked after and bit of a pool car.

Horrendous turbo lag though!

Worst thing about the Astras is the design. That SRi looks almost identical to our poverty spec Exclusiv model.

Agree with you there deano. Needin something that's a bit better on fuel / 5door. Had to be red according to the Mrs which i didn't mind.

Deprecation of a new car is a joke though. We bought the corsa brand new just over 3 years ago for 14k and now we are getting 5k for it. Something I will never do again is buy brand new.

Mrs had 2 before her host of Mokka's. Nice cars, common faults with engine are - noisy boost valve, noisy cambelt (can be heard on idle when cold) and erg coolers but this seems sorted with the later models.

Good purchase mate.

I bought my 61 plate back in November and haven't looked back. Get 60mpg on motorway run back and for to work and even 50mpg plus around town driving.

Turbo lag ain't the best tho but get yourself a dtuk performance box and it will cure most of it.

Ps goes like shit off a shovel and very nice to drive

Well as said here's some pics of the new car. Pretty impressed with it so far. Averaging 47mpg according to the trip computer. Not too bad to say the longest run it has been was 30 miles and that was on the way back from buying it so wasn't exactly hanging around.
Got a feeling it's been lowered as well. Sat it next to my boss's car which is the exact same and it looks lower. What does everyone think?

Not much planned for it anyway just put the private plate on it , wind deflectors , paint the calipers , hids and White bulbs all round. Possibly tint the windows.

Possibly in the future but these are 18s so not in any rush to get 19s for it.

Yours looks better than most with those wheels. The astra is so bland usually.

I've yet to see an astra with these wheels on it around here. Seen them on insignias a lot mind you.
