Not road legal, but will pass an MOT. Make of that what you will.

If the car has projector lenses it 'should' pass although some stations get anal if you've got no head-light washer jets.

If you've got standard lenses chances are the pattern will be shit and it will fail.

Head light washer jets doesn't come into it, all it says in the guidelines is if it has them fitted they have to be working

They need headlamp washers and self levelling motors in the lamp to make them officially legal.

This. Along with headlights made for Xenon bulbs, rather than projector headlights. Retro fitted HIDs are rarely legal, but they'll normally pass an MOT if they're not really badly aligned.

Not to pass they don't, if a car is fitted with hids from factory and has self levelling and headlight washers it all has to work to pass

If the car just has hids fitted aslong as the alignment is ok they will pass

My "proper" retro fitted Xenons (D2S not crappy rebased bulbs) in proper projectors designed for the bulbs passed MOT fine but did not have self levelling or washers.

Tom what Dan and Cossie are saying is it may pass an MOT but it doesn't make it legal

Also, worthy of note, may as well chuck your HIDs in the bin unless you're using them in a proper projector as they will be toilet and less effective than your standard setup.

Bulbs are in my 2002 996, and must say the visibility is a lot better with the hids in
