Is there anywhere to do this?

Im very laid back usually with road layouts and think most are fine if common sense, and a modicum of driving ability is applied.

However this morning the most ridiculous road layout/junction combo ever almost caused me to have a pretty bad crash.

Basically a twisty main road, turns into a dual carriageway for a bit up a hill to allow cars to overtake lorrys and vans.

Near the top there is a right hand bend which is blind to anything in the overtaking part of the lane. But also right at this peak is a right hand turning into a junction where cars occasionally have to stop in the blind bit of the overtaking lane to perform the turn.

There are no road markings to indicate cars are tuning or to slow, and there are also no seperate filter markings for cars to sit and turn, if they want to turn they literally have to stop and sit in the overtaking lane like sitting ducks. AFTER all this are arrows telling you to merge back into one lane.

This morning I was overtaking a van, when at the last minute round this bend something was stopped turning, I didnt have time to pull in front of the van, so all i was left to do it hit the brakes, lucky I had the reactions of a cat, and managed to just slow in time, but there was full on abs lock ups going on and am convinced had it been the usual dillying idiot they would have hit it, quite badly too.

Does this sound horrendously dangerous to you

I got all angry and loaded up mspaint

Im the red car, white is the van doing abotu 40 mph, blue car is the one turning.

Doesnt look quite as blind as it is there, as the incline is part of the problem

Sounds like you were going to fast over the crest of a hill where, as you have found out, anything could be there

Driving too fast, You should drive at a suitable speed for the road, if you are coming up to a blind summit/corner your speed should be adjusted accordingly.

Assuming this is 60mph road? If the limit is 60 then does that not mean that driving at 60 is NOT dangerous driving? Conditions permitting..?

Otherwise why bother making it a 60? Why not a 40?

Looks more likely to be a 40 either way steves driving skills are superior to anyone else's who travels on this road as they would of most certainly crashed it's only because of his feline senses that this was avoided,

Also a highly experienced driver like himself should know a speed limit isn't there to be met you drive at a speed you feel safe at according to the conditions and road which clearly he wasn't or wasn't paying attention, thank god he's such a pussy otherwise an accident could of occurred,

Was it in the defender? If so I blame the view of the road being blocked by the wank fast and furious oil pressure guage tbh

In that case, your way of thinking would make it ok to do 60mph in snow and icy conditions.

Think about it........
