Excellent news for me, the boss wants us to buy a drone, we want it for photography etc
Where is a good place to buy them? Would people recommend a 2nd hand ebay jobbie?
The only one i really know of/heard of is the DJI, but seems they have quite a few different ones now.
I already told them it would cost at least £500 and up to £1000

Right, used the link in that thread and asked the shop about it, they recommend either the @
Phantom 3 Advanced or the Phantom 3 Professional.
The pro is nearly £1200, not sure on what accessories I'm likely to add/need, Am sure i'll need something

Go with the Pro.. the only thing you'll need is extra battery(s) and a compatible tablet (iPad/android) of some sort.

I was looking at the P3 pro or advanced, one of the lads at work went out and got the advanced that evening so i've been able to play with that.
Seemed quite fool proof to fly, amazing footage and photos from it.
Gone off the idea of a chinese one.

Yeah buying those cheap toy ones is like deciding using a shopping trolley to commute to work would be a better idea than a car.

I think i learnt when i got in air rifles, bought a chinese one, then spent the same again modifying to make it decent, it never was right so i sold it and bought a decent UK made one, which was perfect straight out the box.

I've also gone off the idea of a drone now, i think if i did get one it would be a FPV racing drone, they look the most fun.

They are a good crack you need to invest a lot of time in learning to fly and you need to find somewhere safe to fly..
Heres mine:
I can't recommend the ZMR250 frame enough! Cheap as chips and strong as an OX!

Nice one, i think i might do an ebay challenge and slowly collect bits when i can win them cheap.
What website do you use? Was looking at BOYD (build your own drone)
Can you over spec the motors for the frame?

I'm using the DYS 1804 (2300kv) motors and Afro 12AMP ESC's..
The flight controller is a Naze32 pro but to be honest there is no point going for the Pro version as none of the extra features are needed for a 250.

Think my boss will buy a Phantom 3 for work purposes, am sure i can muck about with that. Might get some bits ordered at same time through work, pay no vat etc.

i change my mind every hour, do i want a drone or not, do i build one or not, starting to think to just buy a phantom 3 with extra battery and case and not have to worry about all the technicals etc
FOund the 3 advanced with the battery and case for £1100, or do i think, may as well pay a little more and get the professional one with batt+case.

This is not boss buying one, thinking of getting myself one.
Now that the lad from work has one, i think the boss is thinking just get him to do any pics etc

Are they as good? Whats the range like? The P3 seems to mention this light bridge thing a lot so assumed i must need that

Whether the range is good or not depends on your requirements? You'll be able to fly further than you can see.
Lightbridge is the 1080p video HD downlink.. The Phantom V2 Vision uses a WIFI link, I think the video feed is around 720p.
