Not sure it's a legal requirement. Probably a spec issue.

Pretty sure that's an EU thing but not law here. I would assume if the car has them fitted they must work, but I don't think it's law?! Could be wrong

14 plate only has sidelight drl's iirc, unless you pay extra for them.
Tell him to stop being a pikey and buy the decent spec one.

A lot of cars use sidelight type lights as DRLs.

Not sure, think Titanium Navigator is a higher spec. I know the Kuga had/has Titanium X which is top.
I had a 62 plate 1.0 zetec and that didn't have drl's. 63 plate fiesta zetec had them but they were just Sidelights. Fiesta ST has led drl's. Focus has similar, but at the top of the headlamp, rather than the bottom.

Ben, what are your views on Ford Autos?
I'm thinking of chopping mine in for something automatic.
I'd be looking at the Focus again.

I saw a Focus prev. Shape titanium with Xenons and alloys etc always assumed they were top spec. Maybe not!

I personally wouldn't trust a Ford auto. I've been in an S-Max auto which was very nice and smooth, but a lot of customers have had issue's with the autobox for some reason. Moght be better now the technology is more advanced.
We're certainly making more auto's in work, so they can't be that bad.

Day time running lights (a.k.a the bright while leds).

My 2010 Fabia has them, but in a very annoying place as people think that they are fog lights:

I know . They act as my sidelight (dim when i turn the switch) which is odd as i have 'dummy bulbs' next to my main lights.
