Washed the car this morning and realised I was out of wheel cleaner. Ended up using some Muc-Off (decent bike cleaning stuff) which did a fairly decent job.

However there is a lot of brake dust stuff that looks like liquid streaks. It'll come off with scratching and scrubbing but would rather something break it down first before I take a brillow pad to the wheels

What do people recommend? Preferably something that can be had from Halfords, ECP etc.

Bilberry or iron x are probably your best bet.

In future, use a wheel sealant to protect the alloy against brake dust buildup.

I use this stuff when i've not cleaned it for a while:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-LITRE-ACID-WHEELS-AND-BRUSH-SAFE-ALLOY-STEEL-WHEEL-CLEANER-VALETING-DETAILING-/252035930364?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3aae8318fc

Works bloody well. Will remove 30k of shite from the inside of wheels from the rear when doing tyre changes.

I generally just use car shampoo for weekly washes.

You use a seat ibiza to clean your wheels? That's a bit drastic, Andrew.

Autosmart Smart Wheels. £25 for 5 litres and better than Bilberry IMO.
