Getting old I think, starting to turn into my dad, slowly balding, grumpy and now I like whiskey...
Who else is a fan and what do you drink?

Yeah, love the stuff. Got a real taste for it.
I particularly single malts from the Speyside region.
Glen Moray can be had in Sainsburys for £20-£25 which is a cracking price for single malt Speyside.
Or try their Strathisla on offer at about £27 at the moment!

Not a massive fan of whiskey or whisky, although a spot of Jameson's isn't too shabby.

I've become a big fan of Monkey Shoulder, and when I was in Cardiff at the wife's uncle and aunties house he has some Penderyn Legend which was gorgeous stuff.

lovely, way better than generic stuff. Tastes a lot nicer, lot stronger smelling. I just drink it as is straight.

Love it, had a 63 dalwhinnie a while back that was out of this world. Currently have a Japanese one, can't remember its name right now but was quite surprised.

Lover of almost all single malt Scottish whiskies. Highland Park from Orkney is up there with my favourites. MacAllan 10yo sherry cask is another beauty, not far away from me either. Spoiled for choice around me.

Can't stand the stuff, just don't get the taste not flavour. I'd love to be a fan but I just don't think it'll ever happen.

Dalmore single malt is good.
I can't stand the taste of most whiskey, but a couple of ice cubes really makes sipping away on a single malt

Water makes the taste stronger. So how can you not like it straight but drink it with ice?

Not necessarily, Mark. Depends entirely on the malt itself and how much water. Ice should be fucking banned though.
My favourite is Auchantoshan Three Wood. That's a lovely drink and not too expensive. I thought I'd try a Macallan and purchased their Gold variety (they've changed how they label bottles from age to colour, depending on age and cask), and it is average at best. Was hugely disappointed tbh.
Rob, get on Masters of Malt and get one of their taster packages. You can work from there to see what type of malt you like best

Used to drink a lot when I was younger. I actually stopped drinking for 5/6 years but started again within the last 6 months. Mainly Vodka, though.

It's pretty lush for a blend. Not that cheap either

Re Macallan Gold. It's pretty horrible stuff in comparison to their standard 10YO sherry cask. The 'Gold' variety is oak cask aged and by far the inferior product. The Japanese bought so much of the cherry cask 10YO that there is hardly any left in the UK- I had to source a bottle from an auction recently.

I've only just started drinking Whisky and that was the original JD. Next one is going to be the Honey, but I wouldn't mind trying Bourbon Whisky.
Goes real nice in coffee too.
