Dad had one a few years ago, used to like driving it, had the floating dash and looked great.

D5 engine is good and strong - currently motoring around in a 2009 V70 D5, ticked over 160k this morning.

Have heard the geartronic boxes can be a little temperamental - 100k is a decent indicator of it reaching its limit before a big bill is due.

Inside of volvos are vile!
Don't know what the newer ones are like though. The exterior is always nice to look at, just wouldn't want to be sat in one

It's a Focus underneath so parts are cheap and they don't really go wrong.

Engine is a cracker, makes a good noise, nice and smooth, and has a decent shove behind it.

The gearbox is a little clunky but all in all it's not bad.

My V70 had the same engine and box and you learn to work with the slightly slow gearbox (I'm being very critical...) and then they're good to drive.

Interiors are well built, seats are insanely comfortable and they tend to be well specced.

Also, the boot is pretty decent, considering it's not a massive car.

"I'll be buying an m5 once Iv bought a house"

11 or so page thread about buying an m5 ends up being a high mileage Swedish log burner based on a fucking Ford Focus.

What an anti climax.

Been looking at V50 r designs for about a month. Loads of top spec ones pop up from time to time so hold out for decent spec one.

Only think stopping me is for similar money you can get Octavia VRS estate.

can afford an m5 just doesn't meet my requirements and wouldn't be practical really. It's not your life, don't let it bother you so much

So your admitting now that the massive thread about buying an m5 was just to let the Internet know you can afford one but you had no intention of buying one? Fueled by jealousy of johnny86 the doley being able to own one whilst being on benefits.

I did intend to buy one. I would like to buy one, it just wouldn't really serve much use to me which is why I have decided not to.
