I got caught doing 74 in a 60. 3 Points and £60. This was 48hrs after passing my driving test, DOH!. It was an unmarked police car. Can someone tell me me why gatsos are now painted yellow, but they use unmarked cars..... Seem to be very opposing ideas.

"We don't want to catch you, we just want to slow you down" they say, while they're sitting in unmarked rental vans with cameras out the back !

I got caught last June, 43 in a 30, 3pts £60 fine + insurance differerence when renewal was due. Bloke standing behind a tree with a camera on a tri-pod, waved me down!
Bloody sunday lunch too, nice sunny day, as if they had nothing better to do!!
Westside-over 100 is a ban, 30 over any speed limit and your up in court!

if u dont get a fine within 2 weeks then ur off the hook if they send it after 2 weeks u can send it back an tell them where to go so my mates dad says who is a cop.
my mate got caught doin 34 in a 30 he got 3 points and 60 quid fine wont go to nice with his insurance next yr especially cause he drives a 1.8 turbo at the age of 18 lol.

yup 34 in a 30 its not a fixed camera there is a radar there though the area which is monitored is where a child was killed couple of yrs ago in a car accident so i guess they are strict about it there cause of this reason but i have heard of people being done for 32 mph down the same road.

If the cops really want to they can get you upto 3months down the line, so it was told on here before by romford. You've broken the law, does it matter how quick they get round to getting you??
Simple fact is you got caught speeding, even if it takes a month or so for them to get round to sending you the ticket. If you ignor it, they'll be sending court summons and the bailiffs like on BBC1 last night!

there is something in the law that says they cant send it after 2 weeks or something not sure of the details of it but my bro got caught speeding on the M6 and they sent the fine after 2 months and he refused to pay it (on the advice of his mates dad whos a copper). Anyways nothing became of it never got points or paid a fine that was bout 3 months ago
My mate got caught doing 65 in a 30 zone though the copper who pulled him over didnt have his radar equipment on so he went looking around his car lookin for something he could do him for couldnt find nothing though.

That'd prob be 5pts for that as your almost double the limit, nout you can do though! dont drive so fast I dont since I got caught! You gota send it off otherwise they drag your ass through court and then you would get banned!

with regards to the 34 in a 30 zone, isnt there something that allows you around a 10% error in the manufacture of ur speedo?

10% of 30 = 3mph so u could get caught doing 33mph and not get done i suppose

If you don't sign the form sent to you declaring the driver of the vehicle then they can't touch you in court as you haven't said who was driving. Only works because of a loop hole in the system.

true u can claim u werent drivin the car if someone else is on ur insurance but thats why they are bringing more Truvelo cameras which take pics of the front of the car. I alrdy got away with speeding once from a camera because i said i didnt know whether it was me my mom, my dad or my nan driving the car at the time. So they jus gave the fine with no points for any license.
