Does anyone know about these cars?? I'm after a 1.8 or 1.6 Driver...anyone had one? are they fast or easy to tune? Cheers

The driver is a nice car mate! 1.8 mind you.

not stats depends what you prefer to drive i think.

Ultimately the 16v is slightly faster but with an 8v you get power as soon as u touch the throttle you dont have to wait for the 3000rpm mark.

All a preference.

Avoid the 1.6 - the engine is OK but not a patch on the 8V and 16V 1.8s. 8V 1.8 is a nice compromise between power and insurance expense. Very torquey around town. 1.8 16V is very very easily tuneable...

i gotta 1.8 Gl mate cos i was only 17 wen i got it. really nice if u get a minter but like any car theres a lot of dodgy shit. fairly nippy. but i still wanna gti nxt. lookin at a mk1 mmmmmmm
