all halfords gave me was a filter with fixings and it cost me £70 so it looks like it just the universal filter

my engine mods consist of:
1. pipercross filter, which im gonna move at some point straight onto the turbo
2. ascar custom exhaust
3. deristricted and modified fuel pump
4. upped boost from 0.67 bar too 1 bar
i also have twin intercoolers, and bigger injectors in my garage waiting to go on
should be pushing well over 100 bhp when they are on, although it must be over 90 at the minute.
oh mine doesnt sound much like a diesel anymore.

gonna put a 1.7 lump in at some point i think, and change the gear box and clutch to something a bit more hardy. clutch cant cope as it is at the moment, let alone with intercoolers on.

no its not a big job, the green 1.5 td induction kit does it anyway. dave aka white flash had his done with a piperx filter, im gonna do it myself by cutting around the turbo hose and moving the oil breather pipe.
exhaust was 95 quid, its only mild steel, couldnt see much point buying stainless as ill probably change it or sell the car.
probably have to change the zoorst anyway with new engine.

where your filter is i have placed air ducting underneath it where it follows my inside of the wheel arch to the bottom of the car,gets loads of air!

i have a ducting pipe coming from the front and the origanal air feed, gonna move it too the other side of the engine anyway, really wanna see a pic of daves first so i know where allard placed his exactly cos i have shit loads of pipes round that side.

only works to a certain extent though, the top of the inlet manifold gets really hot, so by the time the air enters the turbo its already warmed up quite a lot. hence the reason for moving it to the other side so it bypasses all this extra heat.

i got a 1.7d. its a vaux engine though. heard that the fuel pump and turbo are really easy to change though. should be a lot of fun when its done
