My mate owns a 1.4 16v, and has her quite highly tuned. Being a 306 owner I was never a huge fan of the corsa until I heard the noise my mates corsa made with a simple 57i k&n. He now has an exhaust and a de-cat on board, which helps. Awesome is the word.
Its pretty quick now too - he has her tuned to about 130ish.
Has anyone else experienced the same noise??
With the same engine, an ecotek. (In astras as well i think) Do 1.6s make the same noise?

get the same sound, same engine but pipercross.
Sounds ok but not a fan of noisy engine sounds(induction kits, throttle bodies, exhausts etc etc.) I'd rather it be quiter but go shift like shit off a shovel. A wolf in a sheeps voicebox, if you will!!

The 1.6 is a better engine. If you get the original GSi C16XE engine, these can be tuned very highly and make an amazing sound when the right gear is applied.

The C14SE makes the same noise, but not as loud as the X14/16XE and C16XE.
