hehe, I said I would so I did. I actually took my 1.2 Sxi up the strip, probably one of the slowest cars going up. It really put me off when I saw most cars were 2 litres at least!

Wanted to do it just for the experience

Considering it was my first time doing this and how shit my car is I was pleased with my results. Not one of my reaction times were over a second! (so many I saw had times of 1.345 etc)

ok, Run 1 I got a quarter mile time of 19.842 with a reaction time of 0.981
Run 2 I got a time of 19.670 with a reaction time of 0.943
and finally run 3 I got a time of 19.216 with a reaction of 0.847

It was quite amusing - on two of the runs I was racing against a female driving a GSI!!!!

I actually beat her on the last run (lol!!!) she should of walked all over me. I looked at the timing slip and it showed her having like a reaction time twice of mine, then being like a couple of seconds behind at 60 ft and then starting to catch up at 330 ft, with us crossing the 1/4 at basically the same time.

Was a good experience though, and shame on you to all those guys who said they would race theirs but lost their bottle on the day.

I haven't checked the site till now, as I've been majorly burnt and was ill anyway. So I've got a splitting head ache, sore throat, etc.

Was a good day,

Also, considering the heat and the fact I had no pipe directing air at the induction kit (knocked it off when I was cleaning my engine up), and I didn't realise why people were taking their lights off at the time (get more air in - doh) ... I reckon I might of even been able to go a little bit faster.

Not bad considering what the car is.

yeh I know that man, the time compared to the cars going up is shit. But for what it was I thought it wasn't bad.

Just wanted to take it up for the experience and out of curiousity what it'd do. If I could get insured on a C20LET I would have one.

safe dude.......not bad at all mate...but u really need summat over 1.6 to get the power to keep accelerating hard all the way to the line. I mean, if i took my 1.2 8v up there (which i wud have done had some idiot not crashed into my on fri eve) i woulda have done bout a 25sec and top out around 70!! I'm sure u'll agree, they just run outta puff after bout 60/70 (or wheneva u shift into 4th)

I've bin up the pod in a 2.1 16v turbo Nos'd stripped out nova......and that was....FUN. Ran a 13.0.

Was the first time i'd ever been in summat faster than my bro's nova valver......t'was SCARY. but v.v.v.fun. I mean second time we did it, it was kinda just for show, and my mate just smoked the std 14"s all the way up to bout 60...............ran a 17sec that time! lol

yeh man - my car did just die as soon as it went into 4th... The car wasn't running very well anyway, usually feels a lot faster than it was that day. Probably because of the heat (and the overheating engine making all the air it was getting hot), and no actual air intake to direct air at the induction kit.

that wasn't aimed at you mate. you left quite early. I spoke to a few people and they all said they'd go down, then I went and bought my runs up the strip and went to see them over by their camp site and they all started making excuses.
