erm u wanna get ur self a reliable one thats gonna last u. work on photo dept and i no the troubles that cheap camera's bring.

u want a nice Fuji (bout £200) and a 128mb card so u can get loads good quality images on.

Canon Digital Ixus II

Think it's been superceded by newer models now but I'm dead happy with mine. Nice picture quality, dead easy to use, small to carry too

Uses Compactflash which is pretty cheap these days too

I jus bought a Sony Cybershot today... It's amazin... Perfect for capturing car an drunken antics... My mate got one for 30 quid a jessops tho if looking for a cheap one...
