Need advice whether it is possible to spray 'coloured' lacquer on top of a standard base coat?
My car is Flame Red, and I want some flakey glitter, and some flip in colour when the sun hits it, all to be sprayed ontop of the red?
Thanx

You can spray a tinted clearcoat over any colour.Seeing as yours is red then a nice silver tint would sparkle in the sunlight.

I wax my car often. Would they need to flatten the paint or what ever they do, to rid of the silicon?

You would have to flat the paint anyway or the clearcoat will peel after a few months. To get rid of the silicone in the wax they would clean the flatted paint with Panelwipe which is an alcohol based cleaner and will remove all traces of wax/silicone.Most garages use anti-silcone additives as well in the paint for double protection against those nasty fish eyes!
