Vauxhall is developing a sporty roadster version of the current Corsa model which, according to insiders, will be called the Tigra. It will be priced below €20,000 and target the young drivers. It's due for launch at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show.

The new Corsa Roadster will have a retractable steel hard top, which the maker has developed in co-operation with the French specialist Heuliez. It can be clearly seen in these photos. Despite the visible disguise, the prototype is clearly revealing the v-shaped styling and sloping front front end and the characteristic wave-like roll bars at the back.

The little sports car will be powered by a choice of various petrol engines, ranging from 1.4-litre to 1.8-litre, plus there will be a top-of-the-range 1.8-litre GSi 16-valve 125bhp version and a 2-litre diesel developing 100bhp. Spy Video and Photos: Copyright by Hans G. Lehmann

Why would Vauxhall name another car a tigra when its not a new version of the old one?

Why would they also make it look like the old tigra but with added masking tape to make it look new?

Its under devleopment status twat. The white is to hide the lines and shapes of the body panels so that it remains inconspicuous to the final product.
